The word scapular derives from the latin "scapulae" which means "shoulders". Its origins are traced back to the Middle Ages when monks used to wear two large pieces of cloth suspended, both front and back, from the shoulders. Initially adopted as an apron or working clothing it later became an official habit for members of monastic orders.

Nowadays the typical scapular is a sacramental made of two square pieces of wool cloth worn over the shoulders, so that one part hangs over the chest while the other hangs over the back. It is a visible sign of consecration and devotion , especially at the hour of death, to all those who wore the scapular with fidelity and honor throughout life.

Perfect for you or as a special gift for your loved ones , the scapular inspires and motivates to live a faith-filled life.
